In 1999, Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Atlantic, woke up one morning to find out that the BA (British Airways) sponsored London Eye had a technical problem during its launch.

As a marketing stunt for Virgin Atlantic, the Virgin team flew a blimp over London saying "BA can't get it up!!" to poke fun at their competitor. A great example of a small startup using humor against a larger competitor.
